I noticed that mediawiki had a security updated so I went to update it. Then I noticed that the ebuild marked stable was a release candidate when there was a new patched stable version out (1.3.11). Isn't it Gentoo policy to not mark any release candidates stable, especially if they are still maintaining the stable release tree? To me it should be ~ Just my rant :)
Well, sorry, I can't follow you. mediawiki 1.4.0RC1 is *not* marked stable. It's marked as testing. excerpt of mediawiki-1.4.0_rc1.ebuild, line 12: KEYWORDS="~x86 ~amd64" It's marked for testing branch for architectures x86 and amd64. This is not stable (and it won't be ever marked as such). mediawiki 1.3.11 is marked stable. So, what version are you talking about?
Um. I should have read you subject more carefully. So, I'm marking this bug as invalid. Because It's *not* (and was never) marked stable.
oops, my bad. I feel like an idiot :) I forgot I put www-apps/mediawiki ~x86 in /etc/portage/package.keywords. Sorry about that :( I should have looked more closely at the ebuild. (been a long week)
np. btw, 1.4.0_rc1 is running on wikipedia.org as well (and well). I'm using it, too - without any problems at all. It's just a matter of time, when final is released.
