it seems when installing on amd64 (nocona) that when using udev and baselayout stable version which are QUITE old i think it was like udev42... it is marked extremely old...and has lots of bugs in the forum... When unmasked for ~amd64 it installs and straps and boots perfectly. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
It's your choice whether to run the newest packages, we have strict rules we have to follow before marking something stable. Sometimes it's true a newer version works better - but we have to be absolutely certain its stable before we make it default for your 'average user'. Was there a point to this bug? If you are running 2005.0 already and feel some stuff wants updating or keywording, please open individual bugs with the subject '<category>/<package>-<version> wants keywording amd64/~amd64'. Cheers. Closing bug.
