some apps on the kde menu are out of place (or in the subcategory of utilities or apps), for exaple cdbakeoven, arson kmail importer, kportage, vmware, etc... I think they should be in a more specific place like in the mandrake or suse menus, don't you think?  thanks!

The category of an app is chosen by its author upstream; the app's makefiles install 
its .desktop file into whatever category's directory they want. KDE has a set of 
standard 1-level categories; if we start moving things around we'll create a 
non-standard, non-compatible system and will have to set a new location for _every_ 
kde app we add to Portage (and for the stuff kappfinder finds as well). 
 
One day we will (I hope) setup a unified menu system for all our WMs and then this 
issue will also be resolved, for better or for worse.
