Description Christian Hesse 2005-03-14 03:04:45 UTC
I'm creating a live livecd with catalyst. When I boot the CD I get error about no space left on the device. "device" is the initrd at that moment. I mounted it via loopback and the filesystem was fill with 100%.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create LiveCD
2. Boot CD
Actual Results:
Boot process stop as no file can be written to initrd.

Expected Results:
CD should boot without any problems.

Portage 2.0.51.19 (default-linux/x86/2004.0, gcc-3.4.3, glibc-2.3.4.20050125-r0,

This has nothing to do with the official release media.
Comment 2 Christian Hesse 2005-03-14 05:13:04 UTC
After some searching I think it's genkernel's fault.
Comment 3 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-14 05:29:59 UTC
I'm pretty sure this is also fixed in some of the experimental versions of genkernel that will be hitting the portage tree once they've stabilized a little bit in testing.
Comment 4 Tim Yamin (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-30 07:07:17 UTC
Please try 3.1.5 in Portage; if you still get an issue with that then please reopen this bug. Thanks.
Comment 5 Christian Hesse 2005-03-30 07:29:36 UTC
I updated and changed some kernel patches and the stage tarball for my last CD and didn't get an error this time (still with genkernel-3.1.1b). But I will report if I manage to trigger the error again.

Thanks anyway,
Christian
