since I have more than one config for ez-ipupdate (dyndns and nerdcamp) I made a better init-script. if you use it as /etc/init.d/ez-ipupdate nothing changes. So it's compatible. but if you symlink it to /etc/init.d/ez-ipupdate.<config> then you can have multiple configs in /etc/ez-ipupdate/ as <config>.conf. furthermore, I setup always a cache-file and run-as-euser=nobody. and last: I added an 'offline' command. all in all, it works great for me. I hope you will put it into portage. thanks! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
Created attachment 53379 [details] ez-ipupdate (init-script) just replace the ez-ipupdate.rc6 in $FILESDIR.
Init scripts are not allowed to call exit. They should be replaced with return 1.
Re-assign, this package needs a maintainer.
I take it. Ebuild needs complete rework. Takes some time, but nonetheless, I take this beast. ;-)
ok. hard work. ;-) but new ebuild is in portage. Bug can be closed.
