Description Toby Dickenson 2002-09-28 12:06:52 UTC
I have recent updated sys-apps/baselayout, and I now have a
/etc/._cfg0000_group file with a few groups with changed id.

the group 'sshd' is now gid 22, and was 90. 'games' is now 35, and was 22.

/var/lib/games has gid 22. I guess this need to be manually changed to gid 35
now.

Im not sure what else might not be expecting these gid changes. They were not
mentioned in the Changelog :(

this was covered in a Bug ... basically using gid of '22' is kind of standard
across distro's, so we chose that ...

and thinking about this after i hit submit, i'm not sure how much we'll try to
handle this kind of thing ... Gentoo is in constant development, and things
like '/etc/group' are really supposed to be set in stone ...

as such, the gid's arent supposed to change ... but you do make a good point :)

we need a policy, I should think

This is dead, and we have not done this since.
