Description David Sardari 2022-06-06 20:27:34 UTC
Please, build the kernel with support for both OpenRC and Systemd:

Gentoo Linux --->
  Generic Driver Options --->
    [*] Gentoo Linux support
        Support for init systems, system and service managers --->
          [*] OpenRC, runit and other script based systems and managers
          [*] systemd

Afaik, there is nothing that speaks against that:

> Naturally the choice in the last two lines depends on the selected init system (OpenRC vs. systemd). It does not hurt to have support for both init systems enabled.

While the meta option might be off, note that it ctually works completely fine with systemd. So it's a cosmetic issue only.

Thx for the info. I use it then on my systemd system.

Yes, this is a just a convenience hack for people who configure their kernel manually. We have the right config.
