Description Randall 2022-06-02 01:13:30 UTC
I keep seeing this error in my logs...

wireplumber: Failed to set scheduler settings: Operation not permitted

It's already been reported upstream.
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pipewire/wireplumber/-/issues/255

Reproducible: Always

I think it goes away if your user has proper RLIMIT based realtime available. However as you already discovered in the upstream issue you linked, this is fully benign and not indicating that something is wrong, broken or failed.

Is this really such a big deal that you can't just ignore it until upstream maybe fixes it?

Thank you for your response, Niklāvs. Yes, it's pretty trivial. The intention here, though, was to track the upstream bug.

For posterity, this is not really a Gentoo bug but I kept it open anyway because the original filer felt it was important enough to create a Gentoo bug despite there already being an upstream issue they were aware of.

Thank you Niklāvs
