the keyboard is somewhat similar to the Cherry Cymotion XPress but there are some differences. with current kernels a few keys are not responding at all, but some still work and i rewrote my /etc/X11/xkb/* files that were needed to make the keyboard work, as of this thread http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-261126-highlight-.html you can also find links to the changed files there. as stated in that post all but one key worked up to gentoo-dev-sources-r5/r6. since -r7 and 2.6.11 many of the keys stopped responding but i wrote another bug report for that matter. what i want is my (or similar) entries for the xkb files, to make the keyboard work from the scratch, without need to rewrite them after eacht xorg-x11 update. could you please consider this?
here's the complete set of files i changed: http://members.inode.at/a.jenisch/inet http://members.inode.at/a.jenisch/xfree86 http://members.inode.at/a.jenisch/xorg http://members.inode.at/a.jenisch/xorg.xml http://members.inode.at/a.jenisch/xorg.lst
Is this supported in xorg CVS?
i don't know. i'm not using cvs.
That's nice, but it's rather irrelevant to why I asked. If it's not in CVS, I'd like you to file a bug at bugs.freedesktop.org to include it. Pending your discovery of it already being in CVS or it being committed to CVS from a bug you file, I'll add a patch.
as of this thread, there seems to be patches but the last post was quite some time ago. don't know how long it takes them to include it into cvs or when it will be in a stable version. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2030
Please file this at bugs.freedesktop.org and post the URL here. Thanks!
i've filed a new bug report here: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2030
