Description Gordon Innes 2005-03-11 02:57:09 UTC
Both at home and at work I'm getting connection time outs when emerge trys to sync against 213.221.124.132. I've tried pinging the host and I get no response. Also, traceroute stops at: 212.6.224.219

I can sync fine with other servers in the rotation.

Here's the error I get from 'emerge sync':

rsync: failed to connect to 213.221.124.132: Connection timed out
rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(88)

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. SYNC="rsync://213.221.124.132/gentoo-portage" emerge sync

Actual Results:
>>> starting rsync with rsync://213.221.124.132/gentoo-portage...
>>> checking server timestamp ...
rsync: failed to connect to 213.221.124.132: Connection timed out
rsync error: error in socket IO (code 10) at clientserver.c(88)
>>> retry ...

>>> Starting retry 1 of 3 with rsync://213.221.124.132/gentoo-portage
>>> checking server timestamp ...
rsync error: received SIGUSR1 or SIGINT (code 20) at rsync.c(261)

Exiting on signal 2

I first reported this bug on the gentoo forums a couple of days ago
http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=2170034#2170034 (didn't realise there
was a mirrors section in bugzilla :-S). Since then I've had a reply to my post
by nephros who was seeing the same thing as I was but later said they thought
that the host was gone from the rotation. As of posting this bug I'm still
seeing "213.221.124.132" in the dns record, but this could be due to the servers
I use not being updated yet. If this is the case, sorry for posting the bug :-D
