Small bug which can be fixed in 2 seconds. There is a typo. it says emerge "sun-jdk-bin" but this package doesn't exist. What it means is "sun-jdk". A bigger issue is the naming here. Why do we have sun-j2sdk and sun-jdk? Why not sun-jdk and sun-jdk-bin instead to make things more clear? bash-2.05b# emerge -vp =dev-java/sun-j2sdk-1.5.0 These are the packages that I would merge, in order: Calculating dependencies !!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "=dev-java/sun-j2sdk-1.5.0" have been masked. !!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request: - dev-java/sun-j2sdk-1.5.0 (masked by: package.mask, ~x86 keyword) # <compnerd@gentoo.org> (24 Jan 2005) # Masked as it has security holes. We (Java Herd) recommend that you use # sun-jdk-bin instead of this deprecated package. This will be removed unless # someone wishes to touch this (it has an evil license btw). (bug #78854) For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or section 2.2 "Software Availability" in the Gentoo Handbook.
fixed. thanks.
