Description Michael Grubb 2002-09-27 13:02:00 UTC
Hi,

Please find attached pine-maildir-4.44.tar.gz includes the
pine-maildir-4.44.ebuild file and a patch which contains all the patches
from the pine-4.44-r4 ebuild and the pine-maildir-4.43 patch found on
qmail.org also includes the pine-maildir-4.33-gentoo.diff found in the
pine-maildir-4.33 ebuild (pine-4.44-gentoo-maildir-mega.patch).
I also added a PROVIDE="virtual/pine", I plan on modifying the other pine and
pine-maildir ebuilds to add this line. This is so that pinepgp may be updated
(I have the new ebuild, will upload shortly) to require virtual/pine instead of
net-mail/pine. Things to note, to get all the patches to play well together,
I applied all the pine-4.44-r4 patches (excluding the ldap patches) and then
applied the maildir patches by hand to keep them from overwriting some the
changes in the other patches. (Mainly problems with
imap/src/osdep/unix/Makefile) but found that there were some issues with others
as well, I also changed the default options in the maildir.c file, so that
it would allow `Maildir' to appear in maildir mailbox names, Turned off UID
validation so that it regenerates the UID properly everytime pine is run,
and turned on absolute path support. You may find more info on these by reading
the maildir.c file. Oh, and I also made sure that the ldap patches still
applied and compiled, and they do.

Sorry, I accidently set the attachment type as text/plain.

When will it be in the portage tree?
Comment 4 Nick Hadaway 2002-11-22 01:13:08 UTC
I have just released pine-4.50 into portage. I will be working on getting the
maildir patches into the pine ebuild instead of a separate pine-maildir ebuild.

This will take some time sorting through patches though. As I make progress on
this I will post on this bug.

pine-4.50-r1 has been added to portage with your maildir mega patch... I made
some minor changes to compensate for the fact it's being patched against 4.50...
and changed Maildir references to .maildir...

the net-mail/pine-maildir category will eventually be removed in light of
net-mail/pine adding the support...
