Description Zhenzhi 2005-03-09 23:09:59 UTC
Emerging hotwayd-0.8.2 and 0.8.2-r1, errors of MD5 verifcation. 0.8-r1 works fine except that I have a pass_cmd fail error with this version ( probably Hotmail & Hotway's bugs ). I'm quite a noob at bug reporting, mail if you guys need anything else! :)

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Using Porthole > Advance emerge > hotwayd-0.8.2
2.Produces a Failed on MD5 verification
3.ebuild /usr/portage/net-mail/hotwayd/hotwayd-0.8.2.ebuild digest
4.Using Porthole > Advance emerge > hotwayd-0.8.2
5.Fails to install /usr/sbin/hotwayd as xinet.d complains that it can't find hotwayd.
6.Can also be reproduced with hotwayd-0.8.2-r1

Actual Results:
>>> emerge (1 of 1) net-mail/hotwayd-0.8.2 to /

Can you try emerging manually? (i.e. `emerge hotwayd` from shell) These versions install just fine here.
Comment 2 Zhenzhi 2005-03-10 20:26:17 UTC
Sorry but did I miss out anything? I'm quite a noob. Doesn't emerge hotwayd emerges 0.8.1-r1 in shell?
Comment 3 Tuan Van (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-10 20:42:36 UTC
1) MD5 problem.
try emerge sync; rm /usr/portage/distfiles/hotwayd-0.8.2.tar.bz2 emerge hotwayd.
2) problem start xinetd
make sure you merge the new /etc/xinetd.d/hotwayd file with etc-update or dispatch-conf. the default look like this:

service hotwayd
{
        only_from               = localhost
        socket_type             = stream
        wait                    = no
        user                    = nobody
        port                    = 1100
        server                  = /usr/sbin/hotwayd
        #server_args            = -p http://proxy:8080 -u proxy_user -q proxy_p$
        log_on_success          += USERID
        log_on_failure          += USERID
        disable                 = no
        type                    = unlisted
}

I changed disable from yes to no then /etc/init.d/xinetd start.

HTH
Comment 4 Zhenzhi 2005-03-13 19:39:42 UTC
Hmm..it works now after I sync. I did configure the xinetd and etc-update. The problem when I emerged previously was that hotwayd was not installed in /usr/sbin while the other directories were created!
Comment 5 Tuan Van (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-21 17:54:20 UTC
Resolved.
