I have tried to emerge xorg-x11 a number of times with the same result. I tried to emerge the r5 release of X11R6.8.0 but it uses the same X11R6.8.0-src3.tar.gz file, and it too fails the checksum. No other packages exhibit this behavior. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.emerge xorg-x11 2. 3. Actual Results: # emerge xorg-x11 Calculating dependencies ...done! >>> emerge (1 of 4) x11-base/xorg-x11-6.8.0-r4 to / >>> md5 src_uri ;-) eurofonts-X11.tar.bz2 >>> md5 src_uri ;-) xfsft-encodings-0.1.tar.bz2 >>> md5 src_uri ;-) gentoo-cursors-tad-0.3.1.tar.bz2 >>> md5 src_uri ;-) xorg-x11-6.8.0-files-0.7.tar.bz2 >>> md5 src_uri ;-) xorg-x11-6.8.0-patches-0.2.11.3.tar.bz2 >>> md5 src_uri ;-) X11R6.8.0-src1.tar.gz >>> md5 src_uri ;-) X11R6.8.0-src2.tar.gz # emerge --info Portage 2.0.51.19 (default-linux/x86/2004.3, gcc-3.3.4, glibc-2.3.4.20040808-r1, 2.6.10-gentoo-r6 i686) ================================================================= System uname: 2.6.10-gentoo-r6 i686 VIA Nehemiah Gentoo Base System version 1.4.16 Python: dev-lang/python-2.3.4 [2.3.4 (#1, Oct 24 2004, 04:58:11)] dev-lang/python: 2.3.4 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.59-r5 sys-devel/automake: 1.8.5-r1 sys-devel/binutils: 2.14.90.0.8-r1 sys-devel/libtool: 1.5.2-r5 virtual/os-headers: 2.4.21-r1 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" AUTOCLEAN="yes" CFLAGS="-Os -march=pentium3 -fomit-frame-pointer" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc /usr/kde/2/share/config /usr/kde/3/share/config /usr/share/config /var/qmail/control" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/gconf /etc/terminfo /etc/env.d" CXXFLAGS="-Os -march=pentium3 -fomit-frame-pointer" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="autoaddcvs autoconfig ccache distlocks sandbox sfperms" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://gentoo.osuosl.org/ ftp://ftp.gtlib.cc.gatech.edu/pub/gentoo http://csociety-ftp.ecn.purdue.edu/pub/gentoo/ ftp://csociety-ftp.ecn.purdue.edu/pub/gentoo/ ftp://ftp.ussg.iu.edu/pub/linux/gentoo ftp://ftp.ucsb.edu/pub/mirrors/linux/gentoo/ http://gentoo.seren.com/gentoo http://gentoo.chem.wisc.edu/gentoo/ ftp://gentoo.chem.wisc.edu/gentoo/ http://cudlug.cudenver.edu/gentoo/ ftp://cudlug.cudenver.edu/pub/mirrors/distributions/gentoo/ http://gentoo.mirrors.pair.com/ ftp://gentoo.mirrors.pair.com/ http://gentoo.ccccom.com ftp://gentoo.ccccom.com http://gentoo.mirrors.tds.net/gentoo ftp://gentoo.mirrors.tds.net/gentoo http://gentoo.netnitco.net ftp://gentoo.netnitco.net/pub/mirrors/gentoo/source/ http://mirror.tucdemonic.org/gentoo/ http://mirror.clarkson.edu/pub/distributions/gentoo/ http://mirrors.acm.cs.rpi.edu/gentoo/ ftp://ftp.ndlug.nd.edu/pub/gentoo/ http://open-systems.ufl.edu/mirrors/gentoo http://gentoo.llarian.net/ ftp://gentoo.llarian.net/pub/gentoo http://gentoo.binarycompass.org http://mirror.datapipe.net/gentoo http://mirror.datapipe.net/gentoo http://gentoo.eliteitminds.com http://gentoo.cs.lewisu.edu/gentoo/ ftp://linux.cs.lewisu.edu/gentoo/ http://prometheus.cs.wmich.edu/gentoo http://modzer0.cs.uaf.edu/public/gentoo/" MAKEOPTS="-j2" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/local/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.us.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="X acpi alsa apm arts avi berkdb bitmap-fonts crypt dvd dvdr dvdread emboss encode f77 font-server fortran ftp gdbm gif gnome gpm gtk gtk2 imlib ipv6 java jpeg kde ldap libg++ libwww lirc mad mikmod motif mp3 mpeg mysql ncurses oggvorbis opengl oss pam pdflib perl png python qt quicktime readline sdl slang spell ssl svga tcpd tiff truetype truetype-fonts type1-fonts usb wmf x86 xml2 xmms xv xvid zlib" Unset: ASFLAGS, CBUILD, CTARGET, LANG, LC_ALL, LDFLAGS

Sorry I failed to copy the pertinant error message.
