Hey, the maintainer-needed assignee should first advertise https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/GitHub_Pull_Requests rather than the proxy-maint team. The current assignee makes it seem like you have to become a maintainer in order to provide patches to a maintainer-needed package. I imagine we would rather like to say "no one gets this bug mail, but you can fix the package via Github PRs." 2nd approach could be to make a subsection https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Project:Proxy_Maintainers#Maintainer-needed which explains the "issue", and link to that instead.
