# md5sum /srv/portage/distfiles/mysql-connector-java-3.1.7.tar.gz 3ce0ff78bc399e5e1d2686596e5ab4e1
# cat /srv/portage/porttree/dev-java/jdbc-mysql/files/digest-jdbc-mysql-3.1.7
MD5 3ce0ff78bc399e5e1d1686596e5ab4e1 mysql-connector-java-3.1.7.tar.gz 1651792

The md5s look identical at first look, but they are different by exactly one digit. The md5 of the file matches the one on mysql.com, so either someone made a typo in the digest (how that's possible is another question as you should NEVER modify digests manually) or mysql.com got hacked.
