this patch wasnt integrated into xfree86-4.2.1, without it, xfree86-4.2.x will 
not run under linux/alpha. 
can this be merged into the portage tree as a downloadable patch, for 
linux/alpha. ?

works now, with yesterdays patches in the portage tree. thanks.
