For those one who prefer to avoid install qt library, Skype gives a change to download a static binary with Qt 3.2 compiled in. I think it would be nice to make an ebuild to support this Skype version in the Portage.

And in case of Qt security issues one more to care for... 

This is a source distribution and there is no need to have (multiple) static Qt libs.
