You can't control whether webmaild is started by the courier init script. IMO there should be an /etc/conf.d/courier file to control this. courierfilter could be toggled there too. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
Mass re-assign, seems like mail-mta/courier needs a maintainer.
Hope you don't mind me assigning this to you, just until there's someone maintaining courier again.
I told Jakub to reassign all the courier stuff to me, I didn't even notice in the flurry of emails that he just cc'ed me. I intend on maintaining courier. I used to handle it back in the day, and I still use it at home and my server.
Okay, so I was pretty sure I already did this, but must have been lost somewhere. I'm working on this locally (along with some other things), it'll be a while till I get a solution I'm happy with.
Re-assign wrt Bug 22511
It would be great if this could be done, for sure. But the new versions of the courier ebuild (commited recently) allow not to install webmail and/or webadmin, so the lack of tunable configuration is not that bad.
Controllable by use-flag, so we can consider this obsolete.
