Description Mark Morgan 2002-09-26 15:29:14 UTC
I tested this out with two systems so far:
System: Home built
Mother Board: Dragon Ultra MB w/P4:
NICs tried: Dec 2140, Intel Ethernet PRO, and the onboard RealTek.
Drivers: tulip, e100 or eepro100, 8139c? (the 8139too is the proper driver)

System : Dell Dimension with PII 266
NIC tried: Dec 2141

In some cases I could do a broadcast ping and could see traffic was generated.
However, the gentoo system would not recieve. Both of these systems will boot
up with the 1.2 CD and get a working network.

Did something stupid in the network setup.
Netmask was set wrong for my network.
Sorry for the waste of time on your end.
