Description Denys Duchier 2002-09-26 14:15:12 UTC
Sometimes, a package needs to add configuration lines for devfsd. For
example when adding modem support. Currently, on Gentoo, this must be
done by editing /etc/devfsd.d, which is inconvenient and brittle (and
makes unmerging especially difficult).

If instead /etc/devfsd.conf contained a line:

        INCLUDE /etc/devfs.d

then packages could simply add configuration files to directory
/etc/devfs.d in just the same way that this is done, say, for
/etc/modules.d

PS: this problem came up when I was preparing the ltmodem ebuild
