I cannot reproduce this. On my machine 209 merges cleanly. I suspect that what you see is a symptom rather than a cause. Can you scroll back in your output and see if you can additional error messages? If so, please post those as well.
Whatever it was... I can't reproduce it. Because drscheme is currently running as it emerged cleanly. I have really no idea. I tried many times before each time with same failure message as result. Apparently one of the many updates to my system has fixed it. (who knows? might be binutls, gcc, or something in my /etc..)
