Comment 1 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-04 11:58:08 UTC
not a single version is marked stable, probably for a reason
Comment 2 Eric Shattow 2005-03-12 02:45:21 UTC
gcc 3.4.x generates incorrect code on k7 archetecture. please add '-mno-sse' to your CFLAGS or use a stable compiler like gcc 3.3.x
Comment 3 Federico Ferri (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-13 03:24:19 UTC
thanks Eric, but using -mno-sse still doesn't solve the problem.
however i have no "sse" flag in my USE.

i reported various backtraces to www.ardour.org/mantis (their bugzilla system) but the traces are every time different.

what this make you think about?
Comment 4 Federico Ferri (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-13 10:36:03 UTC
switching back to gcc-3.3 solves the problem.

so it is a problem concerning the gcc-3.4 compiler.

this is a bug in the toolchain/CFLAGS, so marking WONTFIX
