If installing snortalog on a server, you might be surprised that x11 shows up as a dep (due to perl-tk).

snortalog is supposed to work without TK also probably by just commenting out some tk lines like the site says.  It would be useful to have a tk use flag to control this behavior.  I'll make a patch once I figure out how this works exactly.

heh I was getting ready to test bug realized 2.3.0 isn't even in portage.  You should've mentioned that ;)

I'll get the bump done and test your patch and if all looks good, will be in cvs shortly.

2.3.0 is in cvs with patch.  Thanks for the ebuild and patch soulse.
