i've bought a brand new multimedia keyboard from cherry and configured it so that (about all) my keys would do what i want. now there's that problem, that with newer kernel versions my keyboard keys stop working. "xev" does not give any output on many of my additional keys. i could use all but one key (the "KDE" key, left to the "TUX" key), until gentoo-dev-sources went "r7" and other sources show the same behavior, like development-sources, or the like.

new kernel 2.6.11.1 should solve this problem

please reopen with kernel info and any other relevant settings if 2.6.11 kernel doesn't work.

i do have installed 2.6.11.2. nothing changed for me. could you please look into that matter?

can't test this, because nvidia drivers wont work with 2.6.12.

You could use the working "nv" driver just to test the keyboard

I've done a bit more reading, and assuming its the CyMotion version, which connects through USB, you need to patch your kernel before using it (the relevant patch comes included with the keyboard, so you probably installed it correctly the first time round). There's a new patch for 2.6.11 on the linux kernel mailing list.
