KTTSD supports two sound output methods: arts and gstreamer. for both support is built as plugin in KTTSD. Gstreamer can be chosen to be optionally built with the gstreamer use flag, but the arts plugin is always built. It would be nice if KTTSD would also be aware of the arts use flag and not need arts as a fixed dependency.

1.emerge KTTSD

Actual Results:  
KTTSD is merged and arts and kdemultimedia-arts are emerged as dependency 

Expected Results:  
only KTTSD should be installed  
arts and kdemultimedi-arts should only be optionally built

kttsd itself decides to not build itself if it can't find arts, so I don't know if this is a feasible idea, at least it should be discussed upstream...

I filed a bug at bugs.kde.org http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=100976 and the mantainer resolved it as WONTFIX, see there for further information.
