i emerged doom3-demo-1.1.1286 with +opengl
installing works fine, but if i start doom3-demo i get this error:

Your opengl is not configured properly.  Read the Doom3 FAQ at http://zerowing.idsoftware.com/linux/doom/ for more information.

Also, no games bug is *EVER* a blocker, as games are not vital parts of the system and this error is definitely local to your configuration, not a problem with the distribution.
