I got the same problem too and I have changed MD5 line in
/usr/portage/net-print/foo2zjs/files/digest-foo2zjs-20041030
this file to point to the new MD5sum like
MD5 412643bee7eecfaf5e1a303e26ddf3f9 lj1488en.exe 12621056

This is the new md5 sum of this exe file. After this modification emerge worked
but while emerging it coun't file unzip package. it is interesting that it needs
unzip package but emerge didnt tell me that it must install unzip. There is a problem with dependency as well. I think.

My hplaserjet 1000 doesn't work still. /var/log/messages says that
/etc/hotplug/usb/hplj1000: Missing Hp Laserjet 1000 firmware file /usr/share/foo2zjs/firmware/sihp1000.dl

hi,
I have solved the problem manually without emerge. I think the retrived file
lj1488en.exe has some problems. It gives an error during unzip operation.
Then I copied file sihp1000.img from the CD of HPlaser1000 and then issued
cat sihp1000.img > /dev/usb/lp0
and printer showed me responde then I could print a test page through cups
interface.

Hope this helps.
