There is no blocker. Increase --backtrack, if that does not help you have a different problem and should look into cleaning up your /etc/portage/package.* entries.
I was able to find the culprit - net-im/telegram-desktop. After i have unmerged it, the updates of QT went ok. This is misleading. the expected behavior would be to block the updates of the entire QT ecosystem if I have a package that depends on the specific QT slot.
emerge -vp telegram-desktop ...no problem here. And what do you expect me or qt team to do about Portage behavior anyway?
