this *almost* applies cleanly to 0.96 ... could you update it so that it does please ? :)

the netboot use flag should be commented out before the patch is applied 
without errors. when the patch is applied and use flag is added, grub can be 
emerged w/o errors when emerge --newuse.

that patch you posted is like 1.5megs ... cant say i'm interested in watching
over that

Yes, it's your business. This patch for me. In grub netboot based on etherboot-
5.0.5. Many NIC don't work (z.B. sis900). I need this functionality, you not.

nothing is stopping you from keeping a local ebuild with this patch
