Running 4.2.6 before. Worked fine (except painfully slow). 4.2.7 marked stable, so emerge that. Printer would no longer print at all. Printer display (Epson CX5400) showed number 1 followed by picture of ink drop (the printer itself showed all inks at least seventy percent full). Reverting to 4.2.6 solved problem. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. emerge gimp-print (and get 4.2.7) 2. try to print anything Actual Results: Would not print at all. I [01/Mar/2005:07:09:43 +0000] Hint: Try setting the LogLevel to "debug" to find out more. Setting the LogLevel to debug comes up with a megabyte of output (with nothing obvious to me). I don't want to just upload that unless you want it (or I could search through it for something specific).
please set the loglevel to debug and post the output, this output is not usefull
Well, the error file does compress well (from 1.5 MB to 1816 bytes). I changed the loglevel in cupsd.conf, deleted the error logs, and then restarted cupsd. Attempting to print created these logs (except the last few lines) in about three seconds (if it matters, I attempted to print the text "hello, world" from kedit).

try to install gimp-print-4.2.7, remove your printer and add it again
> try to install gimp-print-4.2.7, remove your > printer and add it again Did that. Looks like it works now. Closing. Thanks for your help.
