My keyboard not working after emerge kde 3.4 beta2.
emerge -p kde-base/kxkb
These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
Calculating dependencies ...done!
[blocks B ] =kde-base/kdebase-3.4* (from pkg kde-base/kxkb-3.4.0_beta2)
[ebuild N ] kde-base/kxkb-3.4.0_beta2

!!! Error: the =kde-base/kdebase-3.4* package conflicts with another package.
!!! both can't be installed on the same system together.
!!! Please use 'emerge --pretend' to determine blockers.

Comment 1 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-02-28 09:16:46 UTC
you can't mix splitted and unsplitted ebuilds - either kdebase (which includes kxkb) or kdebase-meta (which depends on kxkb)
Comment 2 Miroslaw Holubek 2005-03-01 06:50:07 UTC
OK, I have done
emerge -C kdebase
emerge kdebase-meta
emerge kde-base/kxkb
but the keyboard does not work.
Comment 3 Miroslaw Holubek 2005-03-01 11:04:53 UTC
Which kde application controls the keyboard?
Comment 4 Gregorio Guidi (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-02 02:24:54 UTC
Make sure you updated /usr/kde/3.4/share/config/kdm/kdmrc with etc-update.
