it solves partially the problem of encryption with jabber, at least it worked for me

from gaim-encryption website:
I'm pretty sure that this is a bug in the Jabber protocol in 
Gaim: it also now filters out other HTML (text formatting, for 
example).

I put in a workaround... now it does not use HTML at all for 
Jabber conversations, with the result that if you send an 
encrypted message when the other guy doesn't have the 
plugin enabled, they'll get spammed.  Oh well.
