Description Jim Kusznir 2005-02-26 13:22:39 UTC
Re-occurance of bug 79084 (which is marked "resolved", and I don't have the permissions to reopen it, so I opened this one)

When emerging openoffice-ximian, emerge dies with a sandbox violation on /root/.gnome. Per bug 79084, the solution was to add:
addpredict "/root/.gnome"
to the ebuild. According to the notes on bug 79084, that was done, but both version 1.3.7 and 1.3.8 seem to have the same problem. This is from a portage treee rsynced from 2/25/05.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge openoffice-ximian
2. sit back and wait for it to fail with above error

Expected Results:
Emerged cleanly

Only deviation from my normal on this box is I had to move PORTAGE_TMPDIR to
another partition due to disk space issues.

Could you please provide the output of your emerge info?

Still getting this with 1.3.9?
Comment 5 Andreas Proschofsky (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-04-09 11:57:38 UTC
Obviously your problem differs from the one in bug #79084, as that this one happens while building in not installing. So I added another addpredict to src_compile, this shoould fix your build problems.
