Description Toralf Förster gentoo-dev 2005-02-26 06:57:23 UTC
emerge of ivman gives the following (seems to be a different problem then described in bug #80348 ?) :

nhh221 ~ # emerge -at ivman

These are the packages that I would merge, in reverse order:

Calculating dependencies ...done!
[blocks B ] sys-kernel/linux-headers (from pkg sys-kernel/linux26-headers-2.6.8.1-r2)
[ebuild N ] sys-apps/ivman-0.3
[ebuild N ] sys-apps/hal-0.4.5-r2
[ebuild N ] sys-kernel/linux26-headers-2.6.8.1-r2
[ebuild N ] sys-apps/dbus-0.23-r3
[ebuild N ] dev-python/pyrex-0.9.2.1

!!! Error: The above package list contains packages which cannot be installed
!!! on the same system.

The package linux26-headers-2.6.8.1-r2 blocks the emerge *and* is needed ?

Comment 1 Stefan Schweizer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-02-26 22:06:59 UTC
You have a 2.6 kernel and linux-headers installed

linux26-headers != linux-headers

please do:
emerge -Cva linux-headers
emerge -va linux26-headers

it should work then :)
Comment 2 Daniel Drake (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-02-27 04:08:36 UTC
We no longer support linux26-headers, its now linux-headers-2.6
