I appears that the ebuild of chezmoi isn't set up correctly, rendering it unusable after installation. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Add a file: chezmoi add <path/to/file> 2. Check status: chezmoi status Actual Results: No status is displayed. Expected Results: Status is displayed with files that have been checked in.
To further comment, it seems to be missing an array of files. Furthermore, it seems the package is pretty out of date.
The output you posted is actually expected. What Chezmoi is trying to say, is that you don't have those files created, so it will fall back to defaults. You don't need to create those files, if you want to modify the behavior of Chezmoi.
Sorry, slight correction. *You ONLY need to create those files, if you want to modify the behavior of Chezmoi. Otherwise, they're not needed.
That said, the previous maintainer that originally uploaded the package no longer uses Gentoo (and said, he probably won't be coming back (I emailed him)). So I have taken over the maintence of the package, and updated to latest. Therefore, this issue can be closed now.
Thank you, Randall! Your explanation made sense, and I'm looking forward to seeing the updated version on the main branch of Guru soon. I'll close this.
