Description Luca Santarelli 2022-02-10 17:36:40 UTC
Recent stabilization of www-apps/nextcloud-23.0.0 broke all stable installations, since there was no 22.x.y release ever stabilized in portage and jumps between major releases aren't supported by the in-built updater (php occ upgrade).

Please, always remember to stabilize a release for each major.

I understand that I should have noticed the jump and manually keyworded a 22.x release before mindlessing accepting portage's suggested package.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge -u @world
2. webapp-config -U nextclout [...]
3. php occ upgrade
Actual Results:
Nextcloud installation is now broken

Expected Results:
Nextcloud installation doesn't get broken by the recommended upgrade.

I want to keep the bug open until there is sufficient warning in ebuilds (sending a 24 stabilization req now)

Either just comment in ebuild for maintainers, or some checks if that is possible with webapps ebuilds
