Created attachment 764791 [details] Relevant logs during boot (sddm + systemd + kernel) from start to stop of sddm Steps to reproduce: 1. boot up 2. log into any Wayland session using sddm (I've tested Hikari and Sway, doesn't work with X11 sessions) 3. shutdown system (e.g. using shutdown 0) Expected behavior: system shutdowns within 20 seconds Actual behavior: "Stopping Simple Desktop Display Manager..." is displayed in console and system shutdowns only after 1.5 min timeout. Reproducible on AMD64 and on ARM64, this issue is also known on other distros: https://forum.endeavouros.com/t/sddm-fails-to-stop-on-reboot-and-shutdown/23605/50?page=2

Heh, I've been seeing this too, but I wasn't sure if it was something I'd done as I only stared using the box again.
No problem with openrc/elogind, I can't help with debugging.
I want to add that this is also reproducible on OpenRC, I've forgotten to include it in the original report.
Do you still have the problem with Plasma >=5.24.4? It contains https://invent.kde.org/plasma/plasma-workspace/-/commit/f377696bff39e35ae0f7ae6104d8732b3856744e
I can confirm that with upgrading Plasma from 5.23.5-r1 to 5.24.5-r2 the problem disappeared.
