This is available from the ubuntu repositories, so Gentoo should be able to, at the very least, deploy the ubuntu dpkg files.

A few hints for the linked ebuild
* MY_PV="1.6" is not needed. Read https://devmanual.gentoo.org/ebuild-writing/variables/
* Use EAPI=8
* run pkgcheck scan --net
* remove empty 1st line
