The package x11-misc/xbindkeys-1.7.1 compiles just fine on ppc-macos.  I would suggest adding ppc-macos to the keywords list.

Can anyone verify that the package not only compiles but properly works?

For anyone who's feeling particularly adventurous, it'd be useful for me to have some quick test 
directions (since I've never used xbindkeys).

The guile use flag pulls guile (see bug #62277) which causes readline issues.  I
masked the flag for now.

Don't know how to test xbindkeys either.  Need to check later.

I tested that it works for key strokes (control + f) and mouse keys (control + b:2)
