Description Markus Rothe (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-02-24 08:03:12 UTC
Hi,

I just noticed, that sci-libs/lapack-atlas-3.6.0 doesn't install the libraries
correct. here is the emerge output:

[...]
>>> Merging sci-libs/lapack-atlas-3.6.0 to /
--- /usr/
--- /usr/lib/
>>> /usr/lib/lapack/
>>> /usr/lib/lapack/atlas/
>>> /usr/lib/lapack/f77-ATLAS
--- /usr/include/
--- /usr/include/atlas/
>>> /usr/include/atlas/clapack.h
--- /usr/share/
--- /usr/share/doc/
>>> /usr/share/doc/lapack-atlas-3.6.0/
>>> /usr/share/doc/lapack-atlas-3.6.0/README.gz
>>> /usr/share/doc/lapack-atlas-3.6.0/AtlasCredits.txt.gz
>>> /usr/share/doc/lapack-atlas-3.6.0/ChangeLog.gz
 * /usr/lib/liblapack.so -> lapack/atlas/liblapack.so
 * /usr/lib/liblapack.so.0 -> lapack/atlas/liblapack.so.0
 * /usr/lib/liblapack.a -> lapack/atlas/liblapack.a
[...]

but the /usr/lib/liblapack* symlinks are pointing to nirvana for me:

lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root 24 Feb 24 11:39 /usr/lib/liblapack.a -> lapack/atlas/liblapack.a
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root 25 Feb 24 11:39 /usr/lib/liblapack.so -> lapack/atlas/liblapack.so

/usr/lib/lapack/atlas/liblapack.* doesn't exist:

$ ls /usr/lib/lapack/atlas/ -l
total 0

I hit this a little while ago on x86 too, but I had assumed it was a local problem.
Comment 3 Markus Rothe (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-03 12:24:29 UTC
reemerging didn't solve the problem...
Comment 4 Markus Rothe (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-07-07 11:43:02 UTC
I've set up my system from scratch some while ago and just merged this package.
Now it installs just fine... I'm marking this bug as INVALID.
