Description Jose Luis Rivero (yoswink) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-02-24 01:33:43 UTC
The message you obtain when portage lock an emerge shows something which is not agree to actual documentation.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.
2.
3.

Actual Results:
"For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or
section 2.2 "Software Availability" in the Gentoo Handbook."

If you take a look at the doc, there is no section called 2.2 "software
availability".

Expected Results:
Think the good reference would be: Part 2 (Working with Gentoo), Cap 1 (A
Portage introduction) an inside it, last point (When Portage is Complaining...).

It would be helpful to keep/add documentation references for emerge. Swift, any ideas on how to keep them in sync at all?

Duplicate of some bug, but fixed.
