Description Quentí 2021-12-25 17:51:21 UTC
Would it be possible to add the Hunspell dictiony for Occitan:
the .dic and .aff files are hosted there: https://gitlab.com/taissou/hunspell-files-for-occitan-lengadocian/-/tree/master/Files

The Aspell dictionary is here: https://framagit.org/Quent--y/diccionari-occitan-aspell/-/tree/main/distribution

Who should I contact?

Best regards

I expect only few users of this package.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Occitan_language

Bit lets see what we can do.
Would you use this package often?
Please create another package for hunspell later.
Our workflow needs one ticket per package.

Hello Jonas,
thanks for taking care of this.
Well I use a spellchecker every time I write, everyday then ;)
I will open another bug for Hunspell then.

And happy Holiday ;)

I had a short look at the https://framagit.org/Quent--y/diccionari-occitan-aspell/-/tree/main/distribution repository.

Here a few remarks:

* You should not put tar balls in git. Why don't you maintain the source in the repository as we always do?

* It is most useful, if the releases are tagged by upstream.

* The licenses were not very clear to me after reading 15 min through the history. Where is the GPL file? Where do the words really come from? It looks like a database extract.

* I would prefer to add a source to Gentoo, which is more open to contributors.

* https://gitlab.com/taissou/hunspell-files-for-occitan-lengadocian/-/issues seems to be an open community project besides it is dead and the only closed ticket was 1 year ago, 30 remain open.

* As soon as the above points are fixed, it should be as simple as copying https://gitweb.gentoo.org/repo/gentoo.git/tree/app-dicts/aspell-de/aspell-de-20161207.7.0-r1.ebuild and with few changes we have an ebuild for you.
