Strange, are you using nvidia drivers?
cant you post your config.log file ? sometimes when a library is reported missing, its really another problem and configure mis-reports it
Consider this issue resolved :) This problem was caused by my opengl settings being screwed up. I am using an NVIdia GF4 and some how it lost the opengl-update settings. This could have been caused by a kernel recompile where I reistalled the kernel and the nvidia driver, but forgot to run opengl-update. Only worked this out when i tried to install the ut2003-demo and recieved an error message something like NO OPENGL FOUND!! Sorry for the Inconvenience. It is interesting to note that if you see this error again you know the silly person has not configured their opengl settings correctly. PS - For some reason I didn't get emailed your comments about this bug that is why it took me a while to get back to you.
