Currently sci-libs/suitesparse is at 5.4.0. This blocks recent sci-libs/petsc (>3.14.6) which require >sci-libs/suitesparse-5.6.0. There may be others. suitesparse is a metapackage and only one of the sub-packages has actually been bumped (sci-libs/cholmod-3.0.14). Related bug is here: https://bugs.gentoo.org/715610 There are other packages in the suite which gentoo currently does not ship. (This bump request keeps the status quo in that regard). Another subpackage requires a change, but it is just the version numbers associated with the meta package. (sci-libs/suitesparseconfig-5.10.1). See attachments. Reproducible: Always

suitesparseconfig-5.10.1.tar.bz2 updates suitesparseconfig-5.4.0.tar.bz2 from http://202.36.178.9/sage/ It uses the corresponding files from github tag 5.10.1 https://github.com/DrTimothyAldenDavis/SuiteSparse The ebuild for sci-libs/suitesparseconfig-5.10.1.ebuild currently subs a SRC_URI from sage to host instead on my university machine. This likely should be removed once the tar.bz2 lives on a gentoo host.
Is the version pinning to sci-libs/cholmod-3.0.13 even necessary?
