A modified version of the amap-4.7 ebuild but it seems that there is no need to apply the pcre patch...

Firstly, in the future please make attachments plain/text.  It's kind of hard to view it in the browser when it's application/octet-stream.

Secondly, the patch is still required.  Just because the patch fails doesn't mean it's not required.  Every patched out line in the old patch still exists in 4.8; just a few chars in a couple lines changed maybe.  IMO, the only time it's safe to assume the patch isn't required any longer is to apply it by hand.  If for every chunk, it asks if you'd like to reverse the patch, that's usually a good indication.  I always look at the code though, just to be sure.  Upstream may have used a less-than-optimal solution for example.

Anyways, thanks for bug. 4.8 is in cvs.
