Who says a hard masked beta would work? Please don't touch the severity, if there isn't a real big problem.
Sorry, Thought I was reading the bug reporting instructions right. I reported as a bug because I tried all the suggestions I found on google to no avail, and it worked on Beta1 fine. The only difference I can find is that this system does NOT have 3.3.2 installed and the system that worked with beta1 had 3.3.2 installed as well? There waas quite a little on google about having libsasl2 installed prior to building kdepim.. I emerged cyrus-sasl as stated and no change. Hope this helps.. Mike
Did you reemerge kdebase? cyrus-sasl is a dependency for kdebase and kdepim in beta2, I wonder why it was not automatically installed...
>>Did you reemerge kdebase?<< Thought so, but I have reemerged kdepim so many times changing use flags and trying everything. I'll renerge kdebase tonight and try tomorrow again... Mike
Please attach the /var/tmp/portage/kdebase-x.x.x|kdepim-x.x.x/work/kdebase-x.x.x|kdepim-x.x.x/config.log files so we can look if cyrus sasl is correctly detected.
The requested files do not exist. After re-emerging cyrus-sasl and tehn kdebasse and kdepim in that order it now works. Apparently kdebase and kdepim did not require cyrus-sasl? Mike
The dependencies are there, probably you synced the tree before they were added...
