Description Heinrich Wendel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-02-21 10:50:46 UTC
canidates are dev-util/yacc and sys-apps/bison (and dev-util/byacc?)
Comment 1 Martin Schlemmer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-10 12:49:10 UTC
Don't see why if they all work with bison. Just install bison with the /usr/bin/yacc symlink
and rip yacc. If byacc is not used by anything specifically (meaning they cannot build with bison),
then rip that as well. My opinion anyhow - why complicate things if not needed?
Comment 2 SpanKY gentoo-dev 2005-03-10 15:00:22 UTC
agreed

our bison already drops a /usr/bin/yacc symlink if no other yacc's have been installed
Comment 3 Martin Schlemmer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-11 06:36:27 UTC
It seems I talked to soon - ash dont want to build with bison.
Comment 4 Martin Schlemmer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-11 06:54:44 UTC
Yay, fedora have a patch to use bison instead.
Comment 5 Martin Schlemmer (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-03-11 06:55:27 UTC
And use gnu make instead of pmake.
