I started up the KDE Rdesktop client and attempted to log in to a Windows machine. It works fine at 800x600, but at 1024x768, it displays the initial dialog box to log in, but you can't edit the Username field and you can't type in a password. After this, I started up "rdesktop -g 1024x768 <ip address of machine" and it worked fine -- I could change the user ID, enter a password, and log on the the machine with a full 1024x768 desktop. KDE is the latest stable version in Portage, as is "rdesktop". Can someone else try to reproduce this? I'm going to attempt to reproduce it with Debian to see if it's upstream, which is my suspicion.
This is a kde bug, see here: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=69637
