Begginning at :

cd /etc/courier-imap

This is wrong.

Correct instructions are helpfully at:

http://gentoo-wiki.com/HOWTO_Setup_QMAIL_VPOPMAIL_and_Other_Mail_Servers

Possibly more errors, the howto just needs updating to match the information in the wiki.

@robbat2/net-mail - can we use ssl-cert.eclass to install test certificates for courier-imap out of the box and drop the entire code listing 4.2/4.3 from the docs then?

i updated the courier-imap section some time ago to match current versions
